How Do You Clean Fire Damaged Walls

House fires are obviously a pain to deal with. Not only are your belongings and house damaged but there is often a risk to you and your family. Then even after the fire has been dealt with, there is all the aftermath of the fire to deal with. The most common problems include smoke, soot, and the combination of water and chemicals used by the firefighters to put the fire out.

Once the fire is put out you are left with all the damage leftover. if you have experienced a fire, going through that is chaotic enough. So on top of that looking at your soot and smoke-covered walls and ceiling is not a pleasant sight. In this article, I am going to tell you how clean that up.

First of all, you should check to make sure your walls have not received any damage from the water or chemicals. You can check this by looking at the wall for any stains. Now that you have determined whether or not the wall is worth saving. you can begin gathering the materials needed for the smoke and soot cleanup process

Before actually starting the cleanup process make sure the area is safe. You also need to make sure that you are wearing the proper protective equipment. Having some rubber gloves, masks, and maybe eye protection is a good idea before you get started. using some mild detergent diluted properly, and some magic erasers or a stiff brush and some paper towel.

You should open all windows and doors to get a cross breeze going. You may also want to use some fans to help. Using your diluted mild detergent and some warm water, dip the sponge and start cleaning a small area of the wall at a time. Scrubbing the area with the sponge, and then when you notice it getting cleaner switch to a new sponge to sort of rinse the rest of the smoke and soot off. Repeat this until the wall is clean

Having a ladder should help you get to those hard-to-reach spots. after you finished cleaning it you may need to repair parts of the wall or possibly repaint parts of the wall. Depending on how much damage was done, calling a fire cleanup company is a better idea than doing it yourself if the damage is bad enough.

Hopefully, your wall is looking better. You are one step closer to getting your home back to normal! cleanup
